What if there existed a platform in Slovakia that would help pastors find resources and solutions in the areas of their greatest challenges?
I dream of a platform of support for ministers in the church – pastors and church leaders – which would bring about a positive change and make a positive impact on church renewal and mission in our country and beyond.
I believe that, through this platform, we can change the culture of our leadership — and through it, our country. Change is not easy and often painful, but it opens ways that would otherwise remain beyond reach. It also takes humility to admit that we need help, and at certain stages of the journey, someone to walk alongside us.
My story
For almost thirty years I served as a pastor of the Baptist church Viera (Faith) in Bratislava.
Throughout that time I was part of national teams bringing together leaders from various Protestant and Catholic churches, helping church leaders, congregations, and their teams flourish and make a positive impact on their communities.
In March 2025 I stepped out in faith: I left my pastoral position to devote myself fully to this mission — building a platform of care for pastors in Slovakia.
The research is underway
The dream now has data behind it. The first phase of the first study of its kind in Slovakia is complete — and the second is in full swing.
The journey so far
Since September 2025 I have been a full-time doctoral researcher at the Department of Theology and Catechetics, Matej Bel University in Banská Bystrica, with a university scholarship. My dissertation research — mapping the main stress factors in the ministry of evangelical pastors in Slovakia — is the empirical foundation of the future care platform. I serve as a staff member of the Slovak Association of Evangelical Churches, with the support of the Baptist Union of Slovakia.
Along the way, the first building blocks of the platform are already in place: in May 2026 I completed a certified training in supervision for the helping professions, and in December 2025 I became a certified Gallup Strengths coach — both tools I already use in serving pastors today.
