What if there existed a platform in Slovakia that would help pastors find resources and solutions in the areas of their greatest challenges?
I dream of a platform of support for ministers in the church – pastors and church leaders – which would bring about a positive change and make a positive impact on church renewal and mission in our country and beyond.
I believe that, through this platform, we could change the culture of our leadership. This would bring about a change across our country. Change is not easy and often painful. But it brings new things and new ways that would be otherwise beyond reach. We also have to have the humility to admit that we need help in the form of a long-term counselling.
My story
Over almost thirty years of my ministry as a pastor in the Baptist church Viera (Faith) in Bratislava,
I have always been on national teams where leaders from various Protestant and Catholic churches gathered. One of our roles and tasks has always been to help the other church leaders, church congregations and their leadership teams flourish and make a positive impact on their community and society at large.
Journey to have my dream come true
Over the past two years, I have been thinking a lot about what I could do to make this dream happen. I came to see that, if I want to follow it, I would need to leave my position as the main pastor of Viera church in Bratislava as it would require considerably more time and travel. Until this point, I have invested some of my spare time but this was not enough to move things further.
As I believe this is also what God is calling me to do, I made a decision to step out in obedience and faith. As of March 31, 2025, I am leaving my job, and, starting in April, as the first step on this journey, I will try to gather around me co-workers and supporters in this mission so that Ican go ahead full speed.
